Item System Overhaul and Band Management Redesign

There’s even more coming to Rock Kommander alongside the launch of Map of Metal v2. In the next update, we’re rolling out a complete item system overhaul and a rework of the band management system. These changes are designed to improve character progression and make team-building simpler and more strategic.

Item System Overhaul

We’ve removed all non-character-specific items from the game. These older items no longer supported our updated progression system, so we’ve replaced them. If you had any in your inventory, we’ve already converted them into diamonds with increased value.

The update keeps each character’s six unique items. These items stay permanently equipped and still provide the same stat boosts. Now, you’ll upgrade them using new Tokens and Boosters. When all six items reach the next level, your character becomes eligible for promotion.

Tokens and Boosters Explained

Tokens are now the main resource for item upgrades. You’ll find them in five genre categories:

• Metal Token
• Rock Token
• Blues Token
• Punk Token
• Thrash Token

You can farm these tokens by playing the new Map of Metal stages. They work with any character, so you’ll always be making progress.

Boosters give another upgrade path. You’ll craft them using Booster pieces collected during battles. Once you gather enough pieces, you can build full Boosters. Each one is tied to a class like Guitarist or Drummer, or to attributes like health or damage. Boosters also match item rarity and genre, giving you flexibility and power.

New Inventory and Sorting System

Boosters and pieces now appear in your inventory. We’ve introduced a smarter sorting system that organizes them by item type, rarity, genre, and role. You can find Tokens in the currency tab, so everything stays easy to track.

Streamlined Band Management

We’ve simplified how bands work. Band XP, levels, and idle income are gone. Now, bands act like preset teams. You can create multiple groups without any cost and quickly swap in the best lineup for any challenge.

This item system overhaul and band system update offer more freedom and clarity. You can build smarter teams, upgrade faster, and enjoy smoother battles. Get ready to jump in when the new update lands next week.
